Average food, nothing to write home about. Better in the summer when you can sit outside and watch the canal boats go by
Don't miss out ,book because this is a lovely place to have a really excellent meal ,can't wait to go again .
Extremely disappointed in this pub. Visited here many times before and always be lovely.However this time was a disgrace. I had a table booked for 6pm. We arrived 5.58pm place was all closed and in darkness apart from kitchen. I knocked on window and asked the elderly man what was going on as I have a table booked. He informed me it wasn't 6pm yet (1min off) so I will have to wait!! 6.05pm he eventually opened and asked if I am happy now.. I asked him y it doesn't say on there website about them closing untill 6pm.. he said there hours change in winter. (Should be advertised on website then!!!) Finally got inside it was freezing cold clearly no heating on!!! Absolute disgrace place has certainly gone down hill!!
Called to see if they were serving food or open - man on phone said, "we've just stopped serving food and will serve food again at 6" so we thought oh okay we will go for a drink. They were COMPLETELY closed til 6 and the sod didn't bother to say on the phone. Instread you should go to the two boats inn, it's 3 mins away and a thousand times more charming!!!
The Xmas decorations are fabulous but it's a shame about the food. The setting for the pub by the canal is second to none but the meals are made up of freezer food. Hard chips and empty scampi cases all served with iceberg lettuce and a wedge of tomato. The tirimasu was good but wasn't home made. Such a pity.
