Nice place inside and out, oak beans and a upto date interior make this place very different to any other pubs/restaurants in Southam. They have a few good beers and decent wine and plenty of seating areas, I do think it could be more comfortable to have less formal tables and chairs and replace them with more informal seating for drinking and eating but all in all I like the place. Never eaten here so can't comment on the food as yet.
Enjoyed a very good meal with my wife. Sunday roast was so good, I had the rib of roast beef and my wife had the Turkey. Will return again soon.

First Time visit - I really wanted to be wowed and love the place - because Southam really needs a decent place to eat & drink.....Many, many Positives - Beautifully restored - warm - nicely furnished - friendly staff - good music on the PA without being intrusive Areas for improvement - I know it's a Gastro-pub, but not much space to sit and drink - if not eating.Very woody - which some people like - particularly in the summer- but hard to create a cosy atmosphere in winter - needs something to soften it a bit..?I rarely send back a pint of lager - but I did my first one (Peroni)- tasted soapy - not sure if it was the glass, the line or what - but to be fair they didn't hesitate to replace it - Estrella - which was fine...We did eat - Menu quite meat-centric, which is fine for most people - we had Sea Bass & a chicken burger (so clearly options other than meat are available) - both good - although, if given a choice, I would prefer the burger served on a plate - and the chips not served in a metal cup without any air holes, as they tend to go soggy toward the bottom - again on a plate I am sure that they would be fine..3 stars is still above average - but I think that there is so much potential here...I'd love to go back and hopefully (5 star) love it next time..
Now called Five.Completely modernized inside for 2018 to a very high standard. Not too many places to sit if your are not eating but lovely all the same.Good selection of beers, gins and wine. Food is really good too.
